St Piran’s Day – Pasty and Cornish Ale
It’s St Piran’s Day this Friday! In celebration, the Community Shop has a special offer available on Thursday 4th March and Friday 5th March.
A frozen Pasty (choose from either steak or cheese) and a bottle of Cornish Ale for £5 *subject to availability*.
The selected Cornish Ales with this offer are one of: Sharps Doombar or Skinners Betty Stoggs, Cornish Knocker or Hops & Honey Ales.

Fairtrade Fortnight
St Dominick Community Shop is delighted to be supporting Fairtrade Fortnight starting today. The aim of Fairtrade Fortnight is to celebrate the people who grow our food and produce other products we all use – locally and globally.
Please keep a lookout for Fairtrade and ethically produced products available in the Shop.

Customer Ordering Service
Update – Following the two week trial period, we have decided that this service is not viable at this time. We will of course let you know should the situation change.
We are delighted to be able to introduce, for an initial TRIAL period of two weeks, a Customer Ordering Service. Orders can be made on a Monday and Wednesday for collection or delivery (within a limited area) the following day. Helen Eynon, Shop Manager will be coordinating this and details are on the poster below.
January Opening Hours – Revised
In order to protect volunteers working in the Shop, there will be a change to the Shop opening hours from Monday 18th January 2021. The Shop will close slightly earlier on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
Post Office Consultation
Whilst the service has already been relocated, Post Office Ltd would still like your views on access and opening hours at the new location. Therefore, Post Office Ltd are now commencing a local public consultation and before we finalise their plans, they would like to hear your views, particularly around the following questions:
Are the new premises easy for you to get into and is the inside easily accessible?
Are there any other local community issues which you believe could be affected by the change?
Is there anything they could do to make it easier for customers?

Recycling For Charity
We have been contacted by Alison Humphreys of South Hill Charity Recycling – a local charity who offers a collection service for household items that are not taken away by the kerbside recycling services:

Alison and her trusty trailer with different recycling bins will be visiting the Community Shop on Friday 8 January from 2:15pm to 3pm. Please collect together any clean and suitable recyclable items from the list shown here and bring these along. Social Distancing measures will, of course, apply.
More details what can be recycled are available at the Shop and Alison will also be on hand on Friday afternoon to answer any questions. If there is sufficient interest and a positive response, we will arrange for Alison to visit again in a couple of months.
