Over the last few weeks, the first WELCOME sessions with Volunteers have also been taking place. These have been in small groups of 4 or 5, and the first chance for the Volunteers to meet one another and to find out more about the main plans for how the shifts and the Shop will be working.
A DAY MANAGER has been identified for each day of the week – one of the Volunteers working on that day who will take on some additional responsibilities for the running of Shop. During these Welcome sessions, Volunteers were invited to share their thoughts about working in the Shop and what this means to them. The themes of feedback were consistently about wanting to be part of the Community and creating and providing a much-needed service for everyone, and also the importance of offering a friendly and positive environment for all customers.
